OUR FAVOURITE PLACES

At the end of the Brandner Valley rests the magical-looking Lünersee at 1,970 metres above sea level. You have the most beautiful view of the reservoir from the Gamsluggen - from here the lake appears heart-shaped. You can reach the Gamsluggen on a challenging mountain tour via the Lünerseealpe and the Gafalljoch.

SAULAKOPF

The view of almost all the Rätikon mountains and the deep view of Lake Lünersee are simply breathtaking.
From the mountain station of the Lünersee cable car (1980 m), you first hike over the dam wall and then up and down the Saulajochsteig trail below the rugged Schafgafall to the Saulajoch (2065 m). There are some difficult passages to overcome. A little east of the yoke, the trail climbs steeply to the left to the rugged summit of the Saulakopf (2517 m). In the rocky upper area, ropes help you to be safer. Descend along the same path to the Saulajoch. Then continue to the left in the direction of Rellstal. Soon after, the path branches off to the right to the Lünerkrinne (2155 m), which allows you to cross back over to the Lünersee. Finally, you can hike around the lake or directly to the Douglasshütte at the mountain railway.

"UNTERE BRÜGGELE ALPE"

You start your hike in the Innertal valley in Brand. The rustic little alp lies in the middle of the unspoilt Zalimtal valley. On the fairytale path, you'll touch splashing springs and enjoy the wondrous silence: stop, close your eyes, enjoy nature.

This hike is ideal for an excursion with the whole family - even in rainy weather. At the lower Brüggele-Alpe, you can fortify yourself with the best alpine cheese and a glass of milk.

"KESSELFALL"

After a long walk towards the end of the valley, marvel at the thundering and foaming Kesselfall - a special natural spectacle of the Alvierbach stream! The path through the gorge is easy to walk even with small children.

CLIMBING IN THE BRANDNERTAL

In the nearby Brand climbing park with different levels of difficulty in the middle of the adventure forest, you can climb high. The biggest challenge is the black course: the finish line is eleven metres above the ground and is only accessible from a minimum height of 1.40 metres. For children from the age of eight and a height of 1.10 m, the green course with elements up to three metres high offers the first climbing challenges. Info about the climbing park Brand

The Brand climbing garden at the Lünerseebahn valley station offers around 20 routes in the medium difficulty range, as well as a challenging practice via ferrata.

Experienced alpine climbers will be thrilled by the Saula via ferrata. From the mountain station of the Lünerseebahn/Douglashütte, you can get to the start via the Saula via ferrata: then it's up the wall in partly very difficult sections (with difficulty level D+) to the 2,515 m Saula summit. Here you have a magnificent panoramic view - across to the impressive Zimba, down to the fantastic Lünersee and all around to the entire Rätikon. Info on the Saula via ferrata
